Scavengers Reign Co-Creator Lands New Netflix Workplace Comedy

Dealies workplace – Netflix has picked up “Dealies,” a new workplace comedy from Joe Bennett and Ted Travelstead. It’s set in the staff of a big box retail store and comes from Green Street Pictures’ animation team, with a 2027 premiere window.

Netflix has quietly made a bet on the odd corners of workplace comedy. The streaming service picked up a new animated show called “Dealies,” created by Joe Bennett and Ted Travelstead.

“Dealies” centers on the staff of a big box retail store with the same name. On paper. that premise is a world away from the sweeping sci-fi stakes of “Scavengers Reign” and the conspiracy-laced comedy of “Common Side Effects.” Yet Netflix’s announcement. and the creative team behind it. suggests the show’s real engine may be the same one: weirdness with a heartbeat.

Bennett—co-creator of “Scavengers Reign” and “Common Side Effects”—is executive producing and showrunning “Dealies.” Travelstead, a voice actor on “Scavengers Reign” and a former supervising producer on “The Great North,” is also executive producing and showrunning the series.

Animation will be handled by Green Street Pictures, the same studio involved with Bennett’s previous shows. Netflix’s key art for “Dealies” and opening credits posted by Green Street Pictures on YouTube point to a visual kinship with Bennett’s earlier work. Big expressive character heads and surreal. almost “Paprika”-esque imagery are the kind of stylistic signatures fans have come to recognize.

If the parallels run deeper than the look, “Dealies” could carry more tension than the premise suggests. “Common Side Effects” is a comedy built around a conspiracy to cover up a potentially life-extending miracle drug. and it’s known for balancing humor with an emotional pull that arrives without warning. That blend—light on the surface. heavy underneath—is exactly what makes the “big box store” setup feel like a deliberate disguise.

Green Street Pictures says “Dealies” will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2027. For now. Netflix is moving the show into the future while Bennett’s other series shift into their next phase: “Common Side Effects. ” co-created by Bennett with Steve Hely. is available on HBO Max and was renewed for a second season in March 2025. “Scavengers Reign” is technically cancelled, though viewers can still catch up on Netflix or HBO Max.

For a team that’s proved it can turn premise into emotion, the question with “Dealies” isn’t whether it can be funny. It’s whether a workplace sitcom—of all things—will still find a way to hit that same nerve.
