Anna Faris says “there’s interest” in a possible House Bunny sequel after discussing the beloved 2008 comedy at Scary Movie 6’s Los Angeles premiere. She wouldn’t confirm anything yet, but she made it clear the idea has reappeared for good reason: the characte
Anna Faris arrived at the Scary Movie 6 premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 3, ready to talk about what’s next. But on the red carpet, the conversation drifted—almost inevitably—to The House Bunny.
“I would love to talk to you about House Bunny stuff,” the 49-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight. “And it turns out there’s, there’s interest.”
Faris also shared that she never expected the original dream to become real in the first place. “I never thought that dream would ever be realized either. ” she said. adding that it’s “too soon to say anything” for now. Still. she pointed to why the sequel talk keeps coming back: “it turns out that movie is beloved. and that character too.”.
The House Bunny debuted in 2008, starring Faris alongside Emma Stone, Colin Hanks, Kat Dennings, Katharine McPhee, and Rumer Willis. The film also leaned into major appearances and cameos. including Hugh Hefner. plus Hefner’s girlfriends Holly Madison. Kendra Wilkinson. and Bridget Marquardt. Other credited cameos in the cast list include Justin Baldoni and Shaquille O’Neal.
The story finds Shelley (Faris) living a carefree life until a rival gets her tossed out of the Playboy Mansion. With nowhere to go, she’s sent to the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. The group faces a deadline: unless they can sign a new pledge class. the seven socially clueless women will lose their house to the scheming girls of Phi Iota Mu.
To keep their home, the Zetas need Shelley to teach them the ways of makeup and men. At the same time, Shelley needs something she can’t learn from a tutorial—a sense of individuality—pushing the girls toward a turning point where they “learn how to stop pretending and start being themselves.”
For now, Faris isn’t offering dates or a script update. She’s only signaling that the door is cracked open again. And with The House Bunny still available to rent or buy on Prime Video. Apple TV. YouTube. and Google Play. the ongoing audience love is at least part of why the sequel conversation is resurfacing now—right when Faris is in the spotlight for Scary Movie 6.

House Bunny sequel?? omg I loved that movie back in the day.
She says “interest” and I’m just like… so is it actually happening or is this just press stuff for Scary Movie 6? Also they better not recast anyone, because Emma Stone was a whole vibe.
Wait is this the one where Hugh Hefner shows up? Like I feel like that whole Playboy thing wouldn’t fly now, so I’m confused how they’d make a sequel. Unless they just change the mansion to like… a hotel lol.
It’s too soon to say anything but she’s already basically teasing it, so yeah I’m calling it: House Bunny 2 is coming. They keep saying the character is beloved like that automatically makes money in 2026. Also everybody’s talking about availability on Prime and Apple like that matters for a sequel announcement, but I guess people rewatch it. I just hope they bring back the Zeta Alpha Zeta storyline because that part was funny.
