The Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair will host a kids scavenger hunt with daily draws and fun maps across the fairgrounds.
A new scavenger hunt is set to turn fairground wandering into a quest for kids at the 2026 Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair.
Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Association 1st vice-president Rick Hugh said the initiative is meant to keep young visitors actively involved, with a format that is both “fun and informative.” The activity is designed for children 12-and-under, offering a chance to explore different displays, activities, and performances.
The key idea here is simple: it gives families a reason to move around and notice more than just the main attractions.
Cards for the scavenger hunt will be available at multiple spots throughout the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. Hugh noted that kids can pick up scavenger hunt cards at information booths, the Buckaroo Kid’s Corral at the Cloverdale Rec. Centre, and at all fairgrounds entrance gates.
Each card lists 12 different items. At each corresponding location, a sign will be posted with a number. Kids will then visit the locations and write the posted number onto their card.
That structure matters because it transforms the fair into an interactive experience, not just a place to watch from a distance.
After completing the card, Hugh said children will deposit it in a box at the Trading Post merchandise booth. From there, the entries will be used in daily draws for prizes.
To help kids navigate, “fun maps” will be available from the Wranglers, also described as “Ask Me” ambassadors. Hugh said the maps are intended to make it easier for fair-goers to find the locations tied to the scavenger hunt items.
