Saweetie Hit With $3M Lawsuit Over Japan No-Shows

Saweetie $3 – Saweetie is facing a lawsuit seeking $3 million in punitive damages after a promoter alleges she took a $100,000 deposit for four Japan performances and then missed the contracted shows between July 18 and July 26 last summer.

Saweetie’s Japan plans are turning into a courtroom fight.

A new lawsuit says the “Best Friend” rapper failed to perform four shows she allegedly agreed to in Japan last summer, and the promoter is now asking for $3 million in punitive damages.

The dispute centers on Moon Dream Production, which filed the case against Saweetie. Court documents reportedly claim Saweetie agreed to perform four shows in Japan from July 18 to July 26. To secure those performances, the company allegedly paid her a $100,000 deposit, with another $100,000 promised later—bringing the total payment to $200,000.

Moon Dream Production alleges Saweetie took the deposit but never took the stage for the contracted dates. The lawsuit also claims that Saweetie and her team “utilized all the visa services” arranged by the promoter—services that. according to the filing. allowed her to enter Japan to perform. But instead of performing at the four venues the promoter says were agreed upon. the company alleges Saweetie “proceeded to perform at different venues for other vendors on the same dates she was contractually bound” to Moon Dream Production.

Moon Dream Production says it requested a refund of the deposit, but Saweetie and her team allegedly refused.

The company claims it was left with losses tied to the missed commitments. including $100. 000 in merchandise and promotional expenses. plus $200. 000 on the venue. It also says it expected to make at least $400. 000 across the scheduled shows. but those earnings did not materialize due to the no-shows. At this time, it remains unclear why Saweetie allegedly didn’t fulfill the contract.

Saweetie has not publicly addressed the allegations.

On Tuesday, May 19, her IG page reportedly showed no posts. In The Shade Room’s comment section. some roomies suggested the booking was a mistake while others pointed to the alleged mismatch between visa support and performances at different venues. One commenter. @2muchdotnette_. wrote. “The first joke on them was booking her.” @naturally.joyyy said. “I really don’t understand the Saweetie hate😂 do I just blast her music everyday?. No, BUT I like her lil music. It got a lil bop to it 😂,” while @crave_beats joked, “Gyattttt. Lemme raise my deposit amount 😭😭😂.”.

Other commenters pushed harder on the contract claims. “Hold up. They saying they flew her out but she ended up performing for other promoters. Sounds a little suspect. Maybe she didn’t understand the words that were coming out your mouth,” @thecoreyshow wrote. @fierytahiry added, “3 million is a stretch,” and @babygirlbova urged for calm: “Lotta hating in these comments. I hope this is ameliorated and all is well for all involved.”.

For now, the fight over those July 18-to-July-26 dates—and a deposit tied to a promise—has moved from the concert world straight into litigation.
