Sandra Bullock is giving fans a rare glimpse into her life with her children.

The “Miss Congeniality” star shared a series of personal photos on Instagram on Aug. 18, documenting recent adventures with family and friends, including rare appearances by her children, Louis, 16, and Laila, 12.

“Friends, family, fun, fishies, furries, aaaand work,” Bullock, 62, captioned the carousel.

The photos document some of Bullock’s recent time with family and friends, including outdoor adventures, fishing and rafting. In one photo, Louis and Laila can be seen walking through the countryside with Bullock’s sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado. Another shows the children on a rafting excursion, with their faces covered by fish emojis.

Among the more sentimental moments was a visit to the graves of Bullock’s parents, Helga Meyer and John W. Bullock, who died in 2000 and 2018, respectively. The family update is notable for the notoriously private actress, who has largely kept Louis and Laila out of the public eye while raising them away from Hollywood’s glare. Bullock adopted Louis in 2010 and Laila in 2015.

Bullock Instagram carousel also included a photo of Jason Bateman and a glimpse of a podcast setup, teasing her upcoming Aug. 24 appearance on “SmartLess,” which Bateman hosts with actors Will Arnett and Sean Hayes.

Sandra Bullock balances motherhood with return to acting

The family photos come as Bullock returns to Hollywood following several years away from the screen.

During an appearance at the CNBC Changemakers Summit in April, Bullock discussed how she balances her career with raising Louis and Laila, revealing that her children’s schedules factored into when she agreed to film her upcoming movie “Practical Magic 2.”

“I made this film at this time because I knew my kids were out of school,” Bullock said. “I’m not going to sacrifice my children’s – my time – with my kids.” Bullock said being able to prioritize her children while working is a privilege she recognizes not every parent has. “I’m raising my children, not anybody else. But I have the luxury of doing that in this business. So many people don’t.”

“Practical Magic 2” marks Bullock’s first movie role since appearing in “The Lost City” and “Bullet Train” in 2022. The sequel reunites her with Nicole Kidman nearly three decades after the actresses starred as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens in the 1998 original.

Her time away from the screen also followed a difficult period in her personal life. Bullock’s longtime partner, photographer Bryan Randall, died in August 2023 at age 57 following a private three-year battle with ALS.
