The only two Democratic candidates in a crowded field came out on top of Alaska’s gubernatorial primary.
The state’s nonpartisan primary is an open field for candidates to get on the ballot for November’s midterm elections. Alaska uses a top-four primary system, meaning the top four candidates advance to the general election regardless of their party.
Here are top-four vote-getters in Alaska’s Tuesday, Aug. 18. Senate, House and governor primaries, according to the Associated Press and CNN.
Alaska House primary results
Alaska has one congressional district, currently held by Republican U.S. Rep. Nick Begich, who is running for a second term.

Alaska Senate primary results
Incumbent Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan was the second vote-getter in his race for a third term. Former Rep. Marty Peltola was the top voter-getter, and another GOP candidate, also named Daniel Sullivan, came in third.
