Samara Weaving remembers the moment like a punchline that still lands. The Ready or Not star was in an airport about 10 years ago when someone thought she was Margot Robbie—and instead of correcting them, she played along.
Speaking with People at the Los Angeles premiere of her new movie. Carolina Caroline. Weaving recalled how the mistaken identity escalated fast. “I remember I was in an airport. It must have been like 10 years ago, and someone thought I was Margot,” she said. “I just couldn’t break it to them that I wasn’t. so I posed for a photo with the fan. saying that I was Margot.”.
Now, looking back, she isn’t sure how the story ended for the fan. “I don’t know, they might have looked at it later and been like, that’s not— that’s some random lady. So yeah, I might be in someone’s phone thinking that it’s Margot, but other than that, no. I don’t leave the house enough.”
The resemblance between Weaving and Robbie has been a familiar topic for years—something both actresses are clearly aware of. Fans have also pointed out similarities between Weaving, Robbie, Sex Education star Emma Mackey, and My Name Is Earl actress Jaime Pressly.
