Salt Lake City Summer League tips off July 4

The Utah Jazz and incoming rookies headline a short Salt Lake City run from July 4 through July 7, with several matchups already set—including Atlanta vs. Utah and Utah vs. Washington in later NBA Summer League action.
For three days, Salt Lake City becomes the NBA’s testing ground—an offseason stretch where teams can quietly sort talent from promise. The first games tip off Saturday, July 4, and the Utah Jazz’s slate runs through Tuesday, July 7, with matchups already built around familiar names.
This comes as the incoming rookie class prepares for its next step after the 2026 NBA Draft concluded and teams confirmed where players will play as their NBA careers begin. Darryn Peterson was selected No. 2 by the Utah Jazz, and he’s among the rookies expected to debut for his new team in summer action. AJ Dybantsa, taken No. 1 by the Washington Wizards, and Cameron Boozer, the No. 3 pick by the Memphis Grizzlies, are also expected to play their first NBA minutes in this same window.
The wider summer calendar doesn’t just start in Utah. The Summer League in Las Vegas will run from July 9-19 at the Thomas & Mack Center, though its full schedule has not been released. Still, the early matchup picture is already taking shape across locations.

In Las Vegas, the tournament runs July 9-19, and at least one opening-day matchup is set: the Jazz and the Wizards will play on opening day, a game expected to put Peterson and Dybantsa on the court against each other.
Later in the Vegas schedule, Utah is set to play Washington Wizards on Thursday, July 9 at 9 p.m.
One day earlier in Memphis’ orbit, the Chicago Bulls take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, July 10 at 5 p.m.
A full list of teams competing at each event has not been announced, and all times are Eastern.
The draft already determined the top of the class—Peterson landing with Utah, Dybantsa with Washington, and Boozer with Memphis. Now the summer slate starts turning those selections into live reps, where each game offers a first look at how quickly new players can fit into a system.
