A 60-year-old man arrested near 100 Warren St. in Roxbury on Thursday was taken into custody after police alleged he sexually abused a child he was hired to transport to and from school.
Fausto Abreu of Roxbury was arrested on Thursday, according to a Boston Police Department community announcement. Police said he had active warrants for his arrest on three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
The case centers on work Abreu allegedly performed for a young child. Boston police said he was hired through social media in September 2025 to drive the child to and from their school and back home. During that employment, police allege Abreu indecently assaulted the victim.
Boston police said the department is investigating the alleged assaults and is checking whether there could be additional victims. Court records had not been updated to reflect Abreu’s arrest as of Thursday night.
