As he tried to keep performing, Stewart steadied himself by grabbing onto the musical instruments, stage barriers, and even a pole at the side of the stage. His foot-tapping continues, but it’s clear something feels off. Backstage attendants eventually rush in to help.

One attendant brings out an oxygen tank. and Stewart takes big inhales. using it to steady himself as the show goes on. Despite the scare. he still found a moment to make the crowd laugh. while also telling them he “dang near fainted.” He ultimately finished the performance sitting in a chair. needing to get off his feet.

The cause of Stewart’s unsteadiness wasn’t confirmed. West Valley City sits about 4,300 feet above sea level, and the altitude could have hit harder than he expected. The singer-songwriter has also recently canceled a show in San Diego. citing laryngitis. though he previously felt well enough to appear at a World Cup match.
