Rain delays Cracker Barrel 400 start at Nashville

LEBANON, Tenn. — The start of NASCAR’s Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway didn’t come at the usual time. Rain moved over the 1.33-mile, D-shaped oval — NASCAR’s largest concrete track — forcing a weather hold that delayed the Cracker Barrel 400 on Sunday night.
It was the second straight week the Cup Series has been thrown off by weather. Last week at Charlotte Motor Speedway, rain shortened the Coca-Cola 600, which Daniel Suarez ultimately won.
This week at Nashville, the disruption began even earlier. Qualifying on Saturday was washed out after a storm prompted track officials to ask fans to leave the grandstands for cover, leaving the race week’s momentum to be reshaped by Mother Nature.
Under the rulebook, Denny Hamlin — second in the points race — received his second pole this year. The pole also brings him one step closer to his career legacy: Hamlin has 61 career Cup wins and is looking to add to that total.
Ryan Blaney, who won at Nashville a year ago for his first victory of 2025, is currently third in the points race. He’s hoping not only to repeat as champion at Nashville, but also to notch his second victory this year.
The rain delay means the race’s early rhythm has to be rebuilt after consecutive weeks of storms disrupting the series, with Nashville now joining Charlotte as the latest stop where timing, track conditions, and points stakes all collide.
Next week, the series will be at Michigan International Speedway.

Why even have a schedule if it keeps raining like that?
So did they just move the whole race or did they start it anyway and finish later? I saw something about qualifying too and I’m like… come on.
Hamlin getting pole again because of rain seems kinda rigged tbh, like the weather chooses the winner. Also Nashville is concrete right? feels like it should handle water better.
Last week Charlotte got shortened and Suarez wins, this week rain hold at Nashville… so basically rain = different results every time? I just wish they’d wait and start in the daylight instead of messing with everybody’s plans. Michigan next week though, so y’all think it’ll rain there too? Not judging just asking.
