QantasLink launches fare sale as 25 years nears
The regional service was launched in 2001, bringing together four regional airlines Airlink, Eastern Australia Airlines, Sunstate and southern Australia Airlines under the one name. To celebrate its 25th birthday, nearly 170,000 seats on select one-way flights are up for grabs for less than $125. Destinations include Port Lincoln, Hobart, Cairns and Broken Hill, with economy one-way fares starting at $99. Residents in Brisbane can catch a one-way flight to Mackay or the Fraser Coast for $125, or travel to Cairns for $159. Flights from
Melbourne to Kangaroo Island or Port Lincoln are available from $159, or make the journey to Bundaberg for $189. The sale begins on Wednesday, May 20 and will run until midnight Tuesday, May 26 unless sold out prior. The fares include checked baggage and complimentary food and drinks. QantasLink chief executive Mark Dal Pra said aviation was an important part of “keeping this country connected”. “We’re incredibly proud of the role we’ve played over the past quarter of a century and to celebrate the milestone
we’re putting every destination on sale,” he said. “From Weipa in the far north, to Launceston in Tasmania and Exmouth in the west, there are great value fares available, giving customers the chance to see friends and family or explore more of our amazing back yard.” QantasLink operates about 500 flights a day to more than 60 destinations across the country and overseas. Mr Dal Pra said the regional airline was investing in dozens of new aircraft alongside cabin and regional lounge upgrades. In addition
to the anniversary sale, there is a 20 per cent discount on Domestic Economy Classic Reward Seats. Shoppers can book a Qantas-operated flight with a QF flight number before May 25, for travel between June 1, 2026 and May 9, 2027 to be eligible.
