Prince Harry skips William reunion on U.K. trip

Prince Harry is expected to arrive in the U.K. next month for an Invictus Games event without meeting his brother, Prince William—an apparent continuation of the distance that followed Harry and Meghan Markle’s 2020 exit from The Firm.
When Prince Harry heads back to his home country next month for an Invictus Games event, the reunion that many hoped for won’t be happening—at least not with Prince William.
Royal expert Emily Nash said there’s likely “no plan” for Harry to meet his brother during the visit. Her understanding is that “there’s no communication there at the present time,” adding that it’s “very sad for all involved,” even as both brothers stay caught up in their own lives.
The gap has its roots in the break that followed Harry and Meghan Markle’s dramatic exit from The Firm in 2020, a departure that left the relationship with William deeply frayed.
Nash framed Harry’s immediate focus differently—suggesting he may concentrate more on his dynamic with King Charles III as the feud with the Prince of Wales continues. “I think Harry does have a bit more of a relationship with his father. so perhaps he will focus his efforts there for now. ” she said. She also pointed out that an unexpected reconciliation would likely require both sides to be aligned at the same time. “It would have to mean their diaries matching up perfectly and they’re being willing on both sides.”.
That’s not the only reason the door may feel closed. While Harry may be ready to move forward. William is still said to carry resentment over how Harry described the royal family in the press. An insider told Heat World via The News that William remains “livid. ” and that even if he “wanted to forgive his brother. letting him in would send the wrong message to the public.” The same source said William still feels “completely betrayed” and has “no interest in pretending everything is fine just for appearances.”.
For Harry, though, the most recent sign of contact with Charles has come through private meetings. In September 2025. the 41-year-old visited King Charles III for tea while Charles was in London solo to attend the annual WellChild Awards. An insider described the reunion as emotional. saying they “were catching up personally about the children and what has been going on with Charles and his health. ” and that “there were hugs and tears at the meeting.”.
The trip also has family implications. Meghan Markle, along with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will be accompanying Harry to England, with the BBC reporting they will join him in Britain.
The reunion will be the first time all four—Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet—are together in England since Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.
So while the focus for many will be on whether the Sussexes can finally share space with the broader royal family, Nash’s assessment suggests something more immediate: during this U.K. visit, at least, Harry and William appear to be headed in the same direction—but not toward each other.
