Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly weren’t favorites of their California neighbors.

According to locals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t have a grand goodbye to Montecito because they didn’t make an impression while they were living there.

One neighbor told Daily Mail that Harry and Meghan left the area “with a whimper, not a bang.”

“There were no moving trucks, no parties, nothing at all,” the person claimed.

“One day they were here and the next they were back in England,” they added.

Many neighbors ‘never saw’ Harry and Meghan

Resident and author Robert Eringe told the publication that the couple wasn’t especially friendly.

“I’m out and about in Montecito a lot and never saw them,” the writer noted.

“I doubt anyone would have noticed they’d left if it hadn’t been reported in the news,” he added.

Harry and Meghan returned a welcome gift to a neighbor

When Harry and Meghan moved into their mansion in 2020, one of their neighbors, Susan, sent them a welcome gift.

“I left a bottle of wine at their gate to welcome them and it was returned to me, unopened, the following day,” she recalled.

“I’m not sure they ever wanted to hang out with anyone who wasn’t a billionaire or famous or both,” Susan pointed out.

Harry and Meghan ‘exhausted’ their Montecito neighbors

With Harry, Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, back in England and adjusting to their new life, the locals of their former neighborhood seem to be thrilled that they are gone.

“Montecito is a very private, peaceful place and I think a lot of people here will be happy to see things go back to being a little quieter,” a source told Page Six.

A second insider added to the outlet, “Good riddance! The town is exhausted by them, the entitlement and the never-ending drama.”
