On June 23, Amazon Prime Day 2026 officially kicks off and runs through Friday, June 26. But if you’ve been waiting to start shopping until the big event, Samsung already has other plans.

Early discounts are appearing now, with Samsung rolling out price cuts well ahead of Prime Day. The timing matters. Some of the strongest price reductions typically show up in the weeks leading up to the sale. and that’s exactly when shoppers are being nudged to pay attention—before the calendar flips.

Prime Day is often one of the best moments of the year to buy Samsung devices. whether you’re shopping for a Galaxy phone. a tablet. or even a TV. Samsung’s approach to discounting also tends to stand in contrast to how some other major consumer electronics brands behave. Apple, for example, rarely discounts its hardware, and when it does, the discounts are usually small. Samsung. the promo playbook suggests. is much more willing to go bigger. rolling out heavier price drops across a wider range of products.

There’s another piece to look for beyond the sticker price. Alongside discounts, Samsung bundles often include added value—packaging a free gift card with certain purchases.

The deals worth your time aren’t just the ones that look discounted at a glance. The selection process described here is built around whether a price cut is actually meaningful. ZDNET only covers deals that match its own interests—devices and products its experts say they would recommend to readers. and would also feel comfortable recommending to friends and family. The check starts with whether the discount is around 20% off (or whether it’s rare enough that the item is hardly ever on sale). Price-comparison tools and trackers are then used to judge whether the deal is genuinely worth acting on.

From there, the evaluation shifts to the kind of details that matter once you own the product. Customer reviews are examined, and hands-on experience with new tech is used to understand what changes the shopping decision for real people—beyond marketing specs.

As Prime Day approaches, the focus is on pulling together the strongest discounts by category. ZDNET’s experts say they are searching through Prime Day sales to identify the best deals they’ve found so far. They’re also compiling a separate list of the best deals from competing retailers.

For shoppers, the takeaway is simple: Prime Day dates may be June 23 through June 26, but the best chance at major savings can happen earlier. Samsung’s early rollouts are already giving customers a head start—and the next few weeks are where the biggest drops are most likely to surface.

  1. I swear they always start “early deals” like 3 weeks before it. Then when Prime Day hits it’s basically the same prices. My cousin said Samsung does gift cards though so maybe it’s worth waiting… or not.

  2. Apple doesn’t discount much, but Samsung does and they still wanna say it’s “value.” I don’t get it. If the prices are cut early, why would anyone buy later? Unless they just jack it up again before June 23 which, knowing these companies, feels very possible.

  3. Prime Day June 23-26… ok but my app already shows Samsung sales like two days ago. I think they’re calling it “bundles” now so you don’t notice the actual TV discount. Also ZDNET only picks stuff they like? so basically if it’s not on their list it’s trash. Great.
