Poston leads as Saturday Round 3 tees set

2026 Memorial – With J.T. Poston turning in the lowest round of the day on Friday at Muirfield Village, the Memorial’s Saturday Round 3 begins with a full slate of tee times—ending with Poston paired with Ryan Gerard at 1:40 p.m. ET. Coverage runs from Golf Channel to CBS, wi

Dublin, Ohio feels different when the wind shows up.

On Friday at Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village, the Memorial grew harder from tee to green, and J.T. Poston handled it the best. He birdied six holes on the front nine. made just one bogey. then got creative when he needed to—landing a sand save for par on 18 to finish with a seven-under 65. the lowest round of the day by four strokes.

“ I just knew it was going to play tough,” Poston said. “ The goal was to try and be patient and keep hitting the shots like I was hitting yesterday, and it helps to get off to a great start, make a few nice long-ish putts the first couple holes and I feel like I was just kind of off and running.”

That performance left him nine under overall. Ryan Gerard sits one back after shooting 69 on Friday, while Sam Burns is alone in third at six under—meaning Saturday’s third round isn’t just about making birdies. It’s about staying calm when the course refuses to make things easy.

Poston’s surge adds extra weight to what comes next. It’s his fourth career PGA Tour victory, and his first since he won the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open. Gerard. meanwhile. has only one PGA Tour win—coming at the 2025 Barracuda Championship. an event played opposite last year’s Open Championship and using a Modified Stableford format. Gerard was also the runner-up in his first two starts of the season (the Sony Open and American Express). then didn’t finish in the top 10 again until last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge (T10).

For Saturday, Poston and Gerard will share the final pairing on the tee at 1:40 p.m. ET, as both try to keep their momentum headed toward what would be the biggest win of their careers.

The Memorial continues at Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio this weekend, though a couple of stars—including Jordan Spieth and Jason Day—won’t be around for Saturday’s action after missing the cut.

Poston and Gerard’s positions matter because the field is packed with players starting at staggered times across the course. From the opening pairings scheduled for 7:50 a.m. ET at Tee No. 18—Justin Thomas paired with the first group—through to the late set that includes J.T. Poston and Ryan Gerard at 1:40 p.m. ET, every hour brings another chance to change the leaderboard.

You can watch the third round from 12:30-2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday on Golf Channel, with CBS taking over from 2:30-6 p.m. PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ will also stream the action beginning at 9 a.m. Paramount+ will air simulcasts of the CBS coverage.
