Parking at $1: East End offers Harrisburg Garage

Ahead of FIFA FanFest and upcoming matches at Houston Stadium, the East End District is pushing a low-cost plan: park at Harrisburg Parking Garage for about 230 spaces on event days, then use METRO with a $1 fare when you pay by mobile or approved online optio
A day at a World Cup fan zone in Houston usually comes with the same headache: traffic that creeps, parking spots that vanish, and last-minute plans that don’t feel like plans at all. This time, at least, there’s a cheaper first move.
The East End District is offering an affordable parking option for fans heading to FIFA FanFest and upcoming matches in Houston. Drivers can park at the Harrisburg Parking Garage, 4450 Harrisburg Blvd., Houston, TX 77011. The garage has about 230 spaces available on event days.
Parking can cost $5 if you pay at the garage kiosk. But the discount is tied to transit. Fans can park for $1 when they ride METRO, as long as they pay using a mobile device or an approved online payment option.
From the garage, riders can walk to Harrisburg Station on the METRO Green Line. The fare is $1.25, and the ride goes directly toward FIFA FanFest and Downtown Houston. If fans want to reach Houston Stadium, they can transfer to the Red Line for service to the stadium.
What the East End District is asking people to do is straightforward: use the mobile or online payment option to take advantage of the discount and, in the process, avoid some of the worst traffic and parking delays that come with busy event days.
