Penticton Fire Crews responding to massive fire at Old Kampe estate on Green Avenue Old Kampe plot in flames Massive flames and smoke are being seen on Wednesday night as the old David Kampe estate burns. The City of Penticton confirmed they are actively monitoring a structure fire on Green Avenue. Fire and emergency crews are on scene and responding. “Public safety remains the city’s priority, and residents are asked to avoid the area to allow emergency operations to continue. as information is confirmed,” the city said. The site, known locally as the Kampe estate after the late philanthropist who owned it, was in the work to become an extended care home facility. One resident who is a block away from the fire told Castanet they have seen sparks and embers falling all over the neighbourhood. “It’s all gone,” they said. Multiple people have reported the heat from the fire. Castanet will update this story when more information is known.
