Every letter in the grid is part of an answer. There’s also a theme tying the solutions together, plus a “spangram,” a special word or phrase that summarizes the day’s theme and spans the entire grid either horizontally or vertically.

Today’s first nudge is simple but specific: “Something just clicked.” The words are related to computers.

The theme lands even clearer when the focus tightens on computer behavior rather than hardware or programs. These words describe computer saves.

The spangram hint for today asks whether it’s vertical or horizontal. It’s vertical—and the spangram answer is “Download.”

  1. So it’s like “save as” but for letters? I saw “Something just clicked” and thought my mouse was dying 😂. Also File Software Document Download Photo… seems random but I guess computer stuff.

  2. Wait the spangram is vertical “Download” but it says it can be horizontal too? Kinda confused. Like if every letter is part of an answer then how do you know which path is the real one… and the “shape shifts” part sounds like a glitch.

  3. I don’t even play that game, but sounds like they’re teaching you to back up your files. Vertical spangram = you gotta download upside down or something? And “withholding the word list until you earn it” is just NYT being NYT. Also Photo Song Application in the same puzzle?? that’s not how computers work, it’s just themed words.
