North West didn’t just wish her dad a Happy Father’s Day—she did it with a look that screamed Kanye.
On Sunday, June 21, North, 13, shared rare throwback photos with Kanye West via her Instagram Stories. In the first snap. North stands next to Kanye. 49. wearing a dark-colored gimp mask that closely mirrors the one her father has worn before. North paired the mask with a bullet-proof vest that read “Donda” across the front. while Kanye looked over at her in the same style.
The symbolism didn’t stop there. Kanye’s “Donda” era in 2021 was also marked by full-coverage facial masks worn by the musician and models. and North’s choice of the gimp mask landed right in that visual neighborhood. In the caption. North wrote. “Happy Father’s Day. ” before posting a second throwback photo from an even earlier time—when she was helping Kanye plan one of his runway shows.
Both Instagram posts came with music from Kanye’s catalogue: “Wolves” from 2016’s The Life of Pablo and “Say You Will” from 2008’s 808s & Heartbreak.
While North leaned into dad-time nostalgia on her story. Kim Kardashian also marked Father’s Day on Sunday with her own Instagram Stories—this time centered on her late father. Robert Kardashian. Kim shared a handmade card created by a child-aged Kim that read, “Happy Father’s Day!. Love, Kimberly.” She followed it with another story showing a card that said, “He saved every card I wrote him.”.
The message on that second card read: “Dad, I just want you to know how much I appreciate everything you do for me. I love working for you. I love you and happy Father’s Day! Kimberley.” Kim worked for Robert, who died in 2003 at age 59, at his cinema music business.
North and Kanye don’t always share moments publicly. but they surprised fans in January when they performed together in Mexico. On January 30, during Kanye’s Mexico City show, North was brought out as a VIP guest. The pair performed an unreleased duet captured via social media at the time. Kanye. dressed in an all-white jumpsuit. sang “You know. I never left you. ” adding lyrics about “every road that leads to heaven” and singing “Hello. my only one.”.
North is the eldest daughter of Kanye and Kim. The pair divorced in 2021 after seven years of marriage. They also share sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 7, and daughter Chicago, 8.
