Kyle Busch’s widow marks Father’s Day with raw grief

Samantha Busch shared a heartfelt photo and video tribute as the family marked its first Father’s Day since Kyle Busch’s shock death, recalling cards already made and the emptiness felt by their children, Brexton and Lennix.

Samantha Busch posted a photo and video montage of Kyle Busch with their two children as the calendar turned to the first Father’s Day without him.

One month earlier, Kyle Busch had died in North Carolina at 41, with his widow describing how severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis. On the day itself, Samantha wrote that the date still didn’t feel real, telling followers, “This still doesn’t feel real at all.”

In her post. she laid out the moment of the missing year in plain detail: she had been awake through the night. trying to figure out what the day “should have looked like for Kyle and the kids.” She wrote about the Father’s Day cards already made—“sitting in a drawer with no one to give them to”—and trying to navigate a day that was supposed to be filled with joy for Brexton and Lennix.

Samantha Busch also described Kyle as the kind of father who “never missed a chance to be silly. ” racing the kids around the neighborhood. wrapping them in his arms. and staying up a little longer for one more book. one more question. one more moment. In the same tribute, she wrote that there was nothing that made Kyle “prouder” than being a father.

As the montage played out, she returned again and again to what absence does to a family in real time. “Kyle, the kids and I miss you every second of every day,” she wrote. “Our hearts ache for you, but it’s more than that. Your absence is something we physically feel. Our bodies hurt from missing you, from reaching for someone who isn’t there, from loving someone we can’t hold anymore.”.

She ended the post with a promise and a blessing—saying she would keep telling Kyle’s stories. sharing his laughs. and making sure Brexton and Lennix “always know just how deeply they were loved by their dad.” She wished him a Happy Father’s Day. writing that the family “love you and miss you more more than words can say.”.
