Nicole Kidman Posts Father’s Day Tribute to Keith Urban

A day after Keith Urban wished Nicole Kidman a happy 59th birthday on Instagram, the actress marked Father’s Day with a black-and-white tribute to Urban, sharing a throwback photo of him carrying their daughters, Sunday and Faith.
Nicole Kidman didn’t wait long to turn the conversation back toward family.
One day after Keith Urban sent his ex-wife a public birthday message. the actress shared a Father’s Day tribute to him via Instagram Stories on Sunday. June 21. “Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers. ” Kidman. 59. wrote as she posted a black-and-white throwback photo of Urban. 58. carrying the pair’s daughters. Sunday. 17. and Faith. 15. on his back.
The image wasn’t the only one on her Story. It sat alongside a separate black-and-white photo of a young Kidman cuddling up to her late father, Antony Kidman, who died in 2014 at the age of 75.
Urban had made the last move first. On Saturday, June 20, he shared an Instagram Story wishing Kidman a happy 59th birthday. The message read, “Happy birthday, Nicole Mary!!!!!!!!!!!!” No photo accompanied it.
While their posts keep orbiting personal milestones, the larger story behind the scenes has been moving toward a new normal. Urban’s divorce from Kidman was finalized in a Nashville court on January 6. with the former couple’s split dating back to when Kidman filed for divorce one day later. In her petition, she cited “irreconcilable differences” and requested that she maintain “primary residential parent” status for Sunday and Faith. (Kidman also shares two adult children, Connor and Bella, with ex-husband Tom Cruise.).
The divorce finalization noted that neither party would pay one another alimony or spousal support, and confirmed that Kidman would serve as the primary parent of their daughters. It also stated that no monthly child support is paid.
Kidman addressed her split during an October 2025 interview with Interview magazine. saying she was “hanging in there.” In a March 11 interview with Variety. the Scarpetta star described her approach to moving forward: “I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good. What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward,” she said. “That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”.
In that same Variety conversation. she said she plans to remain in Nashville. where she had initially settled with Urban: “We have our life here. ” Kidman said. “I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home [and] we go away. I’m very close to my sister in Sydney [Australia], and all my nieces and nephews.”.
For Urban, the shift was described as similarly settled rather than explosive. An exclusive source told Us in October 2025 that the musician had moved on and was open with Kidman about where he stood. The insider said their divorce was a “long time coming. ” after they “had grown apart quietly over time. ” adding. “The decision to separate was more about acceptance than surprise.”.
Now, with Father’s Day arriving right after a birthday message, Kidman’s Instagram Story shows a carefully chosen public moment—one that centers Urban’s place in their family, even as their marriage has already ended.

Awww Instagram family content, I can’t even tell who’s doing what anymore.
Wait so they’re divorced but still doing Father’s Day stuff? That’s kinda sweet but also confusing like… which one is it? lol
She said happy fathers day to all the fathers, but it’s always about Keith Urban anyway. Also I thought the divorce was way later? Guess the timeline gets messed up. Not that anyone asked me.
Idk why but the photo of her dad next to Keith’s photo feels like a guilt sandwich. And they said no alimony? That means they’re totally fine right? Or maybe it’s just PR. People keep saying “new normal” like it’s a thing you can schedule.
