Nicholas Brendon’s death still hasn’t finished reverberating through his family—because a handwritten note has now landed in the middle of the legal fight over his estate.
Just three months after the Buffy The Vampire Slayer star died, TMZ obtained documents that reveal what’s alleged to be Brendon’s handwritten will. In those filings, his twin brother, Kelton Schultz, brought the note to court in an effort to have it validated following the star’s death.
Per the legal documents, the note reads: “My will. Sarah gets nothing kel gets everything. He can figure it out.”
The “Sarah” named in the writing refers to Brendon’s ex-girlfriend, Sarah Marker. Beyond that direct reference, little is known about the exact shape of Brendon and Marker’s relationship—but the wording on the page leaves no room for ambiguity about how little she was set to receive.
Schultz isn’t stopping at the handwritten will. The court filings also show that he has already petitioned to be the beneficiary of Nicholas Brendon’s estate. The hearing to decide whether the handwriting should be validated—and what it means for the distribution of Brendon’s assets—is scheduled for July 16.
An ex-girlfriend mentioned in a single sentence. A twin brother named as the clear receiver. And a line that reads less like legal clarity and more like a final instruction: “He can figure it out.”
Now the only question left is what the court will do with that note—and whether it can hold up as the deciding document for a life that has already been cut short.
