Nanny attacked with baseball bat while walking with baby

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) — The Sugar Land Police Department confirmed that officers are investigating an alleged attack on a woman with a baseball bat. All of this happened while the woman said she was on a walk with the child she was nannying. The police department said they are still looking around the area for any possible video of this incident. The woman’s husband, Dannel Caban, said that because of the extent of her injuries, she’s expected to be in the hospital for at

least one or two more days. “She fought trying to save the baby,” Caban said. “She fought back.” Caban said his wife told him while out walking the baby she was nannying on Friday morning, a man pulled up and got out of his vehicle with a baseball bat. He said the man asked her for directions. “Right away she saw the guy with a bat in between his legs, and she got scared and went back,” Caban said. Caban said the man approached her

and hit her in the back of the head. He said she ended up with several blows to her head, arms, and hands. “She started screaming and with her hand like that, started screaming really loud,” Caban said. “That’s when he took off.” Caban said a bystander approached, and they called for help. Images showed the extent of his wife’s injuries, which, Caban said, range from broken bones, bruises, and stitches. “When I got to the hospital, I found my wife covered in blood, her

face, her clothes, her arm broken,” Caban said. Caban said he and his wife still don’t know why this happened and what the possible motive was. Sugar Land PD confirmed it’s investigating this case, but didn’t provide additional information. Police said there was not much to go on as far as a suspect description, so they asked anyone with information to contact them at 281-275-2020. Ultimately, Caban said they want the man allegedly responsible to be found. “I don’t want this to happen to nobody

else because it’s hard,” Caban said. “It’s hard.”
