Hulk Hogan’s Final Moments Described in Police Report

A 72-page Clearwater Police Department report contains new details from Hulk Hogan’s occupational therapist and home health aide about the moments before the WWE star stopped breathing. The report concludes there is no clear evidence of wrongdoing.

The call for help came as Hulk Hogan was already in a dangerous, worsening state—one that his occupational therapist described as “rough shape” in a newly released police report.

In the 72-page final report obtained by Us Weekly on Saturday. June 6. Hogan’s occupational therapist. Justin McCamey. told a responding Clearwater Police Department officer. Jordan Bailey. that he and the others had been trying to limit what was said in front of Hogan’s aide while they faced what they knew was unfolding.

“So… we’re trying not to say much in front of her, but he is in rough shape,” McCamey said, according to the report.

McCamey then described recognizing the moment Hogan’s condition turned fatal. “We knew this was gonna be happening,” he told Bailey, and said he “saw it,” referring to Hogan’s death at age 71. “Came in, did the… chest wasn’t elevating. Couldn’t wake him up … he just… stopped breathing.”

Hogan’s real name was Terry Gene Bollea. His family confirmed that he died on July 24, 2025. TMZ first reported the news at the time.

The report also captures the timeline from the perspective of Dana Swinton, Hogan’s home health aide, who was present when he died and was interviewed by Officer Bailey.

Swinton told investigators that by the morning hours Hogan was still able to communicate. “I mean. he wasn’t up as [much as] he was Saturday and Sunday when I had him. but he was still talking this morning. a little low. a little mumbly. ” she said. per the report. She described getting him into a chair and feeding him “a little yogurt.” “He was fine. Set him up there, like… set him up in a chair … where he was asleep, but he was breathing.”.

It wasn’t until McCamey returned from the bathroom that the two realized Hogan’s breathing and condition were no longer normal. According to the report, Swinton said the pair learned something was wrong when McCamey went to take the vitals.

“The patient was in the chair. By the time he came to do the vitals for the visit he’s on, there was no pulse,” Swinton said. “[Hulk] hasn’t been moved, I’d say, he probably got down… probably… I’d say he got down here probably at 8:30-8:45, which we got down here, he’s been down here.”

The report also addresses what preceded Hogan’s final day. It states McCamey told authorities Hogan’s health had been “very poor ever since” a recent surgery. McCamey pointed to Hogan’s long history of multiple operations. saying Hogan had “approximately 20-30 various knee. hip and back surgeries over the years.”.

According to the report, McCamey provided authorities with a list of medications Hogan was taking at the time of his death.

The underlying medical picture leading up to Hogan’s passing had reportedly taken a severe turn in the days before he died. Due to complications from a neck surgery in May. Hogan was reportedly intubated and battled renal failure. fluid overload and severe COPD. according to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer. It was later revealed that Hogan died from acute myocardial infarction, most commonly known as a heart attack.

Court documents obtained by Us also described Hogan’s history of leukemia CLL, a type of cancer that affects white blood cells called lymphocytes, and it is not believed that Hogan’s cancer was public knowledge prior to his death.

In its closing language, the Clearwater Police Department concluded its investigation. The report, released on Friday, June 5, confirms there is no clear evidence of any wrongdoing.

The department also wrote that “under the circumstances,” investigators had to “address, challenge, or validate some of the concerns in the case,” describing the need to interview multiple witnesses and review various recordings to answer questions central to the inquiry.

  1. Why is TMZ getting credit and then it’s a police report? This whole thing is confusing. Also “rough shape” is such a vague phrase like okay… was it medication or what?

  2. The therapist said chest wasn’t elevating and he couldn’t wake him up. That sounds like a heart thing? But then they say no evidence of wrongdoing so I guess he just died of being old and heavy? I don’t know why the aide was there if he was already in danger.

  3. I hate that everyone’s focusing on the wording in the report like “mumbly” and “rough shape.” If he was still talking in the morning then what changed?? Seems like someone should’ve called sooner but maybe they did. Also 72 pages sounds like way too much paperwork for “he stopped breathing,” like cmon.
