Mexican Search Group Returns Tomorrow for Nancy Guthrie

A Mexican search group will head back into the field tomorrow after an anonymous tip led to additional searching in the Nancy Guthrie case that still didn’t turn up her remains. Buscando Corazones Nogales says it’s not discouraged and plans to focus on two new

Nancy Guthrie’s family has been waiting since January 31, and tonight, a search team in Mexico is promising they won’t stop.

Buscando Corazones Nogales says an anonymous tip led them to a remote area last week, but after days combing through the terrain, they confirmed again that they came up empty-handed when it came to locating Nancy’s remains. Instead of pulling back, the group will resume the search tomorrow.

Members say they’ll focus on two new locations within the same general area—spots they describe as vast and difficult to cover.

The case began with information claiming Nancy’s remains had been buried in a shallow grave in Mexico. During their search, investigators uncovered 25 unmarked graves, but none were linked to Nancy.

Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson home on January 31. Tucson is roughly 70 miles from the area currently being searched.

Through it all, her family— including daughter Savannah Guthrie— continues to hold out hope. They are still offering a $1 million reward for information leading to answers in the case.

At the heart of the search effort is the same unresolved question: even after a tip prompted fresh fieldwork and investigators uncovered 25 unmarked graves, there is still no confirmed finding tied to Nancy. Tomorrow’s push will be the next step toward narrowing down what’s there—and what isn’t.
