Marriott Bonvoy adds Palisociety to Design Hotels

A boutique hotel stay is getting a lot easier to book with points. Design Hotels—an independent-focused brand within the Marriott Bonvoy ecosystem—has signed a partnership with Palisociety, a California-based collection that includes more than 20 hotels, residences and restaurants.

The plan is straightforward for loyalty members: all Palisociety properties will eventually join Marriott Bonvoy. Not every Design Hotels property currently participates in the loyalty program. but the addition of Palisociety is designed to widen the selection for travelers who want boutique-style stays with points earning and redemption.

Palisociety was founded by Avi Brosh. Its collection brings together four distinct brands—Palihouse. Palihotel. Le Petit Pali and Arrive by Palisociety—along with independently branded properties. Most are concentrated on the West Coast, with additional locations in New Mexico, North Carolina and Tennessee.

In California, one example of the brand’s approach is Le Petit Pali Laguna Beach. The property is described as capturing the ethos of playful but smart design, paired with a strong location. It also offers a complimentary daily Champagne continental breakfast. a small detail that feels like it belongs to the kind of stay travelers often share on social media.

Design Hotels has positioned the Palisociety collection around bespoke design. neighborhood-inspired culture and programming. signature amenities and accouterments. and an independent point of view. Each Palisociety brand is meant to stand on its own. which is why the partnership matters beyond simply adding bed numbers—it’s adding distinct flavors of independent hospitality under the Design Hotels umbrella.

Brosh welcomed the move. saying. “Design Hotels has long been a symbol of creativity. vision and inspired hospitality in the industry. and we are thrilled to introduce our collection of hotels into their portfolio. Palisociety has always been driven by our love of design. culture and independence. and this agreement feels like a natural extension of those shared passions that hotel enthusiasts will undoubtedly appreciate.”.

Design Hotels sits alongside two other independent-focused brands within the Marriott portfolio: Tribute Portfolio and Autograph Collection. While many boutique hotels have traditionally stayed away from major loyalty programs like Marriott Bonvoy. the number of properties choosing to join—at least in this segment—is continuing to grow.

  1. So does this mean all those Palisociety places will accept Marriott points now or is it just “eventually” like everything else?

  2. Boutique hotels joining Marriott is like… fine I guess but I miss when “independent” meant not tied to a loyalty program. Also “Champagne continental breakfast” sounds nice but I bet it’s tiny.

  3. Wait you’re saying Palisociety is adding points AND charging the same? Like how is that fair? I booked once with Bonvoy and it felt like they always block the good rooms.

  4. I saw Le Petit Pali and thought it was already in Bonvoy lol. They’re calling it “Design Hotels” but isn’t Design Hotels the brand Marriott made up? Either way, more west coast options is cool, even if TN and NC are random adds.
