HBO Max annual plans cut 28% through July 15, 2026

HBO Max is offering 28% off its yearly plans for new and returning subscribers through July 15, 2026—dropping the ad-supported Basic tier to $78.99 per year, the Standard plan to $132.99, and Premium to $164.99.

The window for a cheaper HBO Max year is open—and it comes with a clear deadline. Through July 15, 2026, new and returning subscribers can take 28 percent off any of HBO Max’s yearly plans.

For the ad-supported tier, the Basic plan falls to $78.99 per year, which is $31 off. The Standard plan drops to $132.99 per year, $52 off. And the Premium tier is priced at $164.99 per year, $65 off.

HBO Max says this works out to “up to 40 percent less” than paying month to month. For anyone who’s already been subscribing on and off, the pitch is simple: commit to a year and lock in a lower rate.

All three plans include access to HBO Max’s movie and TV library, with films from Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, A24, Studio Ghibli, and Turner Classic Movies. Subscribers can also stream recent Oscar winners and nominees. including Sinners. One Battle After Another. and Marty Supreme. alongside other HBO Max originals.

On the series front, the yearly plans cover HBO Max standouts like The Pitt, Hacks, Euphoria, and Heated Rivalry, as well as long-running favorites such as Game of Thrones, Friends, and The Big Bang Theory.

The differences between tiers come down to features. The ad-supported Basic plan allows streaming on up to two devices simultaneously. The Standard plan offers the download option—subscribers can download up to 30 shows and movies for offline viewing—and it also includes access to live sports from the likes of the MLB. U.S Soccer. college football. and NHL. among other leagues.

Premium is built for households that want more room to share. It lets subscribers stream on up to four devices at once, supports 4K and Dolby Atmos, and boosts offline downloads to 100 titles.

  1. They keep raising prices and then do “28% off” like it’s a favor. $78.99 still sounds wild for ads. I’m not doing that.

  2. Wait is this for everyone or just new subscribers? My cousin said it’s only like if you canceled then came back, which makes no sense. Also live sports on Standard?? I feel like that part always disappears when you actually try it.

  3. Basic to Premium differences confuse me. Like if it’s 4 devices on Premium, why do they still act like it’s one person? And “up to 40 percent less” vs month-to-month… month-to-month is probably already inflated so they’re just doing math magic.
