Manziel vows hate as he roots for 0-16

Manziel roots – Johnny Manziel says he still harbors “hate and animosity” toward the Cleveland Browns and wants to see them endure historic failure, backing a season-long goal of rooting for “0-16” outcomes.

For a player who once wore “Johnny Football” like a headline, the anger still sounds loud.

In a raw. unfiltered segment on The Night Cap. the former Texas A&M standout and 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel opened up about his feelings toward the Cleveland Browns—the franchise that drafted him and. in his telling. never earned his forgiveness. He didn’t describe a lingering grudge as something he might grow out of. He described it as something he’s choosing to keep.

“I sit here today and I go back on forth. am I going to let Cleveland off the hook. let it go or am I going to sit here with hate and animosity in my heart for the rest of my life. ” Manziel said. He then cut straight to what he’s decided. “I finally sit here today and I’m like f*ck it I think I’m gonna be pissed at them and hate them forever. It is what it is man, no love for the Browns.”.

That mindset doesn’t stay in the past on Sundays, either. Manziel made his rooting plan simple and brutal: “I’m rooting for 0-16 seasons every season.”

The statement came after the Browns drafted Manziel with the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. believing they were solving their quarterback problems. Instead, his NFL run ended early. Off-field issues and inconsistent play cut his professional career short, and his time in Cleveland lasted two years.

In those two years with the Browns, Manziel appeared in 14 games, making eight starts. He threw for 1,675 yards, with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions, finishing with a 74.4 passer rating.

Cleveland has already lived through the kind of season Manziel is talking about. The Browns went 0-16 in 2017—two seasons after cutting ties with the quarterback. If Manziel’s rooting desire becomes reality again. the Dawg Pound would be bracing for more of the same. only this time without any buffer of having already survived it once.

  1. Wait I thought Browns were good now? If they go 0-16 again that’s crazy, but why is Manziel acting like he’s rooting for it personally.

  2. So he hates the team that drafted him… but he also threw like 50/50 picks? sounds like Cleveland dodged a bullet. Still kinda wild he wants them to fail every season like that’s a hobby.

  3. I’m pretty sure he’s only saying this for attention because the article says “no love for the Browns” but also he was out there with the same Browns offense, right? If he wants 0-16 so bad why didn’t he show up and win games. Smh
