Chase RCMP investigating fatal crash that closed Highway 1 on Saturday Motorcyclists dies in crash UPDATE: 5:32 p.m. Chase RCMP are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan on Highway 1 near Chase. First responders were called to Highway 1 just west of Chase at 11:19 a.m. Saturday following reports of the collision, which claimed the life of the motorcycle rider, Mounties said in a press release. “The motorcycle rider, who was in his early 60s, did not survive his injuries. Police said the driver of the sedan remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, adding that the circumstances of the collision remain under investigation. No further details about what led to the crash have been released. Chase RCMP is asking any drivers with dashcam footage recorded between Kamloops and Chase that may show the motorcycle travelling eastbound on Highway 1 before the collision to contact investigators. The vehicle incident on the Trans Canada has expanded to between Pinantan Road and Shuswap Chase Creek Road for 13.5 km, 17 to three kilometres west of Chase.   1. So the rider died but “nobody else was seriously hurt”?? That wording always feels weird to me. Prayers to the family though. I hope they figure out what caused it.

  2. Dashcam between Kamloops and Chase… sure but like how many people actually have video that works, you know? Also why is it always a “circumstances remain under investigation” thing. Could’ve been speeding, could’ve been the sedan pulling out, who knows.

  3. This is sad. But honestly Highway 1 near Chase is sketchy half the time with all the trucks and then nobody respects the lanes. Motorcycle riders always think they can make the turn faster. I’m not saying that’s what happened here, just saying…
