Marina Mabrey’s night didn’t just end with a win—it left a signature behind. In 33 minutes, the Toronto Tempo star poured in 37 points, grabbing four rebounds and adding four assists in a 101-97 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Friday night.

What made it stick wasn’t simply the numbers. Mabrey—now in her eighth season, and in her first with Toronto—hit a barrage of 3-pointers that put her in WNBA history with a historic effort from beyond the arc.

The context for the turnaround was stark. Toronto trailed 74-64 going into the fourth quarter. but the Tempo flipped the game by outscoring the Sun 37-23 in the last 10 minutes of regulation. Mabrey was at the center of that lift, shooting 14-of-24 from the field and going 9-of-12 from 3-point range.

Mabrey’s scoring fit the role she’s embraced in Toronto. She has moved into a full-time starting position after spending past seasons as one of the league’s standout sixth men. delivering quality scoring nights off the bench. Against the Sun, that adjustment looked complete—she didn’t just contribute, she led the charge.

Toronto didn’t rely on one player, either. Four Tempo players finished in double digits. Temi Fagbenle posted 19 points with nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. Maria Conde followed with 19 points and six rebounds, while Isabelle Harrison added 15 points and six rebounds.

With the win, the Tempo improved to an 8-8 record and climbed to fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They sit above the Washington Mystics and the Chicago Sky, while still trailing the Indiana Fever and the New York Liberty.

Now the focus shifts immediately to what comes next. Toronto will play on the road, facing the Atlanta Dream, with tip-off set for June 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
