By the time Alannah Keyser stepped into Casa Amor, the villa had already been rewired for temptation. But on the same evening she debuted as a Casa Amor bombshell on “Love Island USA,” June 21, a new fire spread online—one not about romance, but about alleged racial language.
A video and screenshots allegedly showing Keyser, a 21-year-old University of Southern California film school student, using a racist slur became public after her appearance. The footage and posts began circulating on platforms like X and TikTok soon after her Casa Amor premiere.
In the alleged Snapchat video, Keyser purportedly sings along to a song that includes a racist slur. Screenshots of messages in which she is allegedly seen using the slur also started making the rounds.
The backlash landed alongside fresh chatter about how she was treating the men in the Casa Amor environment. Social media commentary speculated about her attitude toward some of the men as she took part in the show’s raunchy “hearts on fire” challenge, also known as the heartrate challenge.
After kissing and dancing on Caleb McDaniel. Bryce Dettloff and Zach Georgiou. her level of effort appeared to drop off for the rest of the male cast. She kissed KC Chandler’s neck and said. “That’s all you’re getting. ” before repeating the line for Corbin Mims following a brief shake of her hips. For Sincere Rhea. the final man on the couch. she told him. “You can get a little shake. ” and jiggled her butt.
Race and representation became part of the conversation quickly, as KC is Black, Corbin has spoken about being Black and Asian, and Sincere was described as “Hispanic” by his partner, Melanie Moreno, earlier in the season.
Peacock did not respond to a request for comment.
Keyser’s background has also been drawn into the discussion. She lives in Los Angeles as a USC student and is originally from Miami. She was one of six women brought into the Season 8 mix. when the Casa Amor women are tasked with tempting the villa men to stray while the men are separated from the villa women for several days.
The episode arrives after an earlier controversy tied to Season 8 casting. Vasana Montgomery. a 25-year-old business owner from Oregon. was removed from the starting cast days ahead of the June 2 premiere after a video surfaced of Montgomery appearing to use a racial slur while singing along to a song. Like Keyser’s situation, that clip emerged right after the cast was revealed on May 28.
The sequence—video allegations surfacing immediately alongside the show’s high-profile casting moments—has put pressure on a franchise that has already been grappling with repeated cultural controversies. For fans watching Casa Amor unfold in real time. the stakes are no longer just who couples up next. but what language and attitudes are being normalized in the process.
