Logitech Mobi Fold folds for travel, charges fast

Logitech Mobi – Logitech has announced its Mobi Fold, an ultraportable travel mouse that folds in half using a hinge designed for long-term daily use. With a grippy silicone wrap, a 4K DPI optical sensor, a multifunction touch panel, USB-C charging, and claims of up to a mont

The first time you fold Logitech’s new Mobi Fold, it changes how you think about using a mouse on the move.

Unlike a traditional travel mouse that just packs smaller. the Mobi Fold is designed to fold in half—like a clamshell—using a hinge that pivots about 130 degrees. The mouse wraps nearly half its body in a grippy silicone skin. including the hinge area. and Logitech says that hinge was “tested to withstand 15 years of daily use.” The company also stresses that there’s no pinch point when the hinge comes together. thanks to a pleated design under the silicone that expands and stretches as the mouse folds.

Logitech’s new travel mouse is priced at $79.99 in graphite, off-white, lilac, and sand. It’s not the lightest or cheapest thing in the category—at 79 grams it lands a few grams heavier than Logitech’s Pebble Mouse 2 and the bare-bones M196—but it’s among the smallest. When folded. it measures a little over three-quarters of an inch tall and about 2.6×2.5 inches. a size that makes it feel closer to wireless earbud cases than a typical mouse.

Charging is handled through a USB-C port. Logitech says a 1-minute top-up can power the mouse for up to 22 hours. and the rechargeable battery is claimed to last for up to one month on a full charge. The underside uses a removable panel to access the rechargeable battery. and the design choice also points to future serviceability—Logitech says the global release “means we can probably thank recent EU regulations” for that removable cover. allowing the rechargeable battery to be replaced in the future.

It also has a “single” approach to staying connected. On the underside, the mouse includes an optical sensor and a button for cycling between three connected devices. On the user-facing side, there are no dedicated power button controls; you turn it off by folding it in half. In testing with a couple of laptops and an iPad. the connection process was described as easy. with the device-switch button used to move between those up to three devices.

The controls are where the Mobi Fold becomes more than just a compact shape. Instead of a scroll wheel, there’s a multifunction touch panel between the left and right mouse buttons. Logitech’s optional Logi Options Plus software can change how the panel behaves: swiping up and down can make websites and documents zip by. while a more leisurely line-by-line scroll is also supported. The top and bottom of the touch panel also serve as two additional clicky buttons. which can be customized in Logitech’s app—though by default they work as forward and back when browsing.

There’s also a small but important detail for anyone who fidgets while traveling: when scrolling with the touch panel remains active during the fold, all of the buttons are disabled. The goal is simple—reduce accidental presses and clicks while you physically fold the mouse.

Not everyone will love the ergonomics right away. The surfaces where you rest your hands are completely flat. and the mouse is described as less comfortable than a typical desktop design. The feeling is compared to resting hands on two sides of folded cardboard. Even though it isn’t uncomfortable to use. the design’s thinness makes it harder to lift and reposition frequently; one tester struggled to find a sturdy grip on either side.

Still. for people who pack light and want an alternative to a laptop trackpad. the Mobi Fold is positioned as an accessory that’s “impressively small but well featured.” The trade-off is clear: it replaces a full-featured desktop mouse experience with a fold-first approach. including that touch-panel scrolling instead of a physical wheel.

For those willing to adjust. the Mobi Fold aims to earn its place as a pocketable pointing device—especially alongside iPad use after recent multitasking upgrades. The device is available globally. and Logitech’s promise is that the hinge. silicone grip. compact footprint. and month-long battery claim will turn a messy traveling setup into something you can manage with one small tool in your bag.

  1. 79 bucks for a travel mouse that folds… sounds like something you’d buy once and then regret. 4K DPI doesn’t even matter if it’s still laggy on my work laptop, so idk.

  2. Wait, the hinge is “tested to withstand 15 years of daily use” but it’s still 79 grams? That part makes me think it’ll snap when you throw it in your bag. Also USB-C 1-minute top-up for 22 hours is kinda suspicious.

  3. I don’t get why they need a folding hinge. Like just make the Pebble smaller. Charging for one minute like that reminds me of those power banks that claim crazy stuff. If it’s really expandable silicone or whatever, cool, but I’ve seen “no pinch point” still pinch my fingers somehow.
