Lindsay Clancy arrived in a wheelchair for Thursday’s final pretrial conference, her face set in an unsettling, vacant stare that held for much of the court appearance.

The Massachusetts mom accused of brutally murdering her three young children returned to the courtroom as the start of her trial nears. The hearing took place on June 18, 2026, at 3:08 PM PDT, marking another step toward a case that prosecutors describe in grim, specific detail.

Clancy’s lawyer told the judge that the 35-year-old is “a vegetable practically” due to medications. The defense also described serious mental health struggles before the January 2023 triple murders.

At the center of the case are the deaths of Clancy’s children: Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and 8-month-old Callan. Prosecutors say the killings took place at her Duxbury home, where her husband discovered the scene.

Prosecutors allege that Clancy strangled her children with elastic workout bands. They further claim that after she murdered her kids, she slit her wrists and throat and jumped from the home’s second floor. Prosecutors say she was injured and paralyzed as a result of the fall.

During the proceedings, Clancy stared on with a grim look that remained fixed for much of the appearance.

The defense attorney is expected to ask a jury to find her not guilty by reason of insanity. That argument, as framed in court, centers on the claim that Clancy was allegedly overmedicated and suffering from severe postpartum psychosis at the time.

Clancy is charged with three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. Her trial is scheduled for July 20.
