Levis’s leak cleanup cost money and access, mom says

Beth Levis – Will Levis’s mother says removing an explicit video from the internet required a cybersecurity specialist and “an exorbitant amount of money,” after a May 2024 leak involving Levis and an ex-girlfriend spread online. She also described a prior breach attribute

A year and a half after an explicit video of Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis and his ex-girlfriend surfaced online, the process of cleaning up the damage still sounds like a fight for control of the internet itself.

Beth Levis, speaking on NFL reporter Ross Tucker’s podcast, said getting the material removed took the kind of help most people can’t simply buy. She described hiring a cybersecurity specialist and spending “an exorbitant amount of money” to trace what happened after the leak in 2024.

“Will actually ended up engaging in hiring a cyber security specialist and spent an exorbitant amount of money to try to get to the bottom of this. ” Beth Levis said on the episode. She added that much of the content was taken down. but that nothing is truly erased once it has made it onto the web. “Ultimately a lot of the content was taken down, but you can never scrape anything entirely from the internet. It’s there forever. There is a footprint, unfortunately.”.

The leak occurred in 2024, when Levis was heading into what was expected to be his first season as the Titans’ starter. The quarterback has not publicly commented on the incident in the two years since it happened.

Beth Levis also said her son’s private data had been breached years earlier, while he was still in college at the University of Kentucky. She blamed the incident on an “Eastern European hacking group.”

That timeline matters now because it traces a through-line: a young quarterback’s private life being targeted well before the viral moment, then followed by a second wave of fallout that required specialized intervention.

In 2024, Levis went on to start 12 games for Tennessee, finishing with a 2-10 record in those starts. He completed 190 of 301 pass attempts (63.1%) for 2,091 yards with 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

The Titans’ quarterback situation shifted again in 2025. Tennessee selected another quarterback—Miami’s Cam Ward—with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, a move that appeared aimed at replacing Levis behind center. Levis then missed the entirety of the 2025 season after undergoing surgery on his throwing shoulder ahead of training camp last year.

On May 21, Levis, the Titans’ 2023 second-round pick, made his first appearance with the team since last year. He practiced during team drills as Tennessee began organized team activities (OTAs) last week.

The question for many fans now isn’t just whether Levis can regain his on-field footing after surgery. It’s how long the internet’s “footprint” can keep affecting someone’s life once the worst day has already happened—especially when the people trying to respond need both technical expertise and money to mount a defense.
