Lara Trump mocked for workout video with president’s newest Cabinet member, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin: ‘Absolutely cringe,’ critic says
Lara Trump was mocked by online commenters for promoting a workout session alongside Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, Wonderwall.com can report.
Lara, who hosts the weekly talk show My View with Lara Trump on Fox News, joined the former MMA fighter turned politician for a gym session that was featured on her program.
Lara sweats with Markwayne
Markwayne led President Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law through the workout as cameras rolled.
The former Oklahoma senator also trained alongside DHS personnel, including members of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Border Patrol and the Coast Guard.
He said the workouts serve a purpose beyond staying in shape.
“We need to look intimidating because every single day we’re going to work,” he said. “There’s not a day that we have a rest day.
“Our mission is to protect our homeland, and there’s always somebody trying to get in,” he added.

One video showed Markwayne and the agents doing push-ups before Lara joined the session.
She was seen in other clips lifting barbells, doing squats, running, stretching and doing floor exercises alongside the Cabinet official.
Markwayne praises Lara
“She was impressive,” Markwayne said. “She stayed in there. Didn’t miss a rep… I was impressed.”
Lara is married to Eric Trump, the president’s second son. She’s long been athletic — she grew up playing sports in North Carolina and now rides horses and competes in triathlons.
Lara and Markwayne were criticized on social media
The workout video quickly drew a wave of criticism on social media.
“I guess when the singing didn’t work, she got desperate to try this,” one commenter wrote. (Lara previously faced scrutiny for her 2023 cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down,” which she followed with original singles including “Anything is Possible” and a tribute to first responders called “Hero.”)
Another person commented, “Lara’s got the proportions of an exclamation point.”
Still another asked, “Do these people not see how absolutely cringe this stuff is?” while yet another social media critic wrote, “They are so unserious. All of them.”
Trump officials keep touting their workouts
While the president has said he doesn’t work out because he finds it “boring,” exercise photos and videos have become a recurring theme among members of his second administration.
FBI Director Kash Patel recently shared a photo of himself leading federal agents on a run.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. posted a video of himself exercising with musician Kid Rock. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is another frequent fitness poster.
Lara praised the idea during her Fox segment, saying, “We have some people in this administration saying we’re gonna start working out at the airport, and I love it.”
But co-host Brian Kilmeade pointed out the notable exception. “Not the president,” he said. “The president said it’s boring.”
“I’m working out for all the Trumps, so don’t worry about it. We got it going on,” Lara replied.
