On “move-in day,” the home was new and the mood was bright. Less than a year later, a cheating scandal and subsequent divorce have changed the story, but not the view out the windows.

Last August. Kristy Sarah Scott. Desmond Scott. and their two kids moved into the dream house she had built from the ground up. Under a year passed—then came the cheating scandal, and the divorce that followed earlier this year. While Kristy Sarah is still celebrating the lavish mansion. Desmond Scott has been making a life elsewhere. whipping up compound butters in an apartment.

Fast-forward to Friday, May 29. Architectural Digest released the inside scoop on the mega-home—covering everything from who built it to the pricey decorative choices inside.

Kristy Sarah says she never “manifested” building a home from scratch. Her idea came after touring multiple homes and falling in love with one—until the offer fell through later. She then brought in Novi Home Builders to handle the construction and Nina Magon to help execute her interior vision: “modern. soft and very calm.”.

The result is a 7,000-square-foot space designed around light. Kristy Sarah is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, and she told AD that lots of windows were “a necessity.”

In her own Instagram post sharing the feature. Kristy Sarah captioned it with the reflection behind the build: “Years of ideating. creating. investing. taking risks. believing in myself. and building a business beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Today. AD featured a small piece of what this journey has made possible for my family. and I’m incredibly grateful. @archdigest.”.

She did not mention Desmond Scott in the home feature, even though he appears to have been involved earlier on. Previous social media content has shown them walking through the home during the building process. and after that. he appeared to briefly live in the house as well—showing up in “move in day” content.

Decor wasn’t built to compromise.

Architectural Digest’s photos show a consistent palette across open spaces. with colors like off-white. beige. dark grey. and pops of rust. But the furnishings weren’t the kind you pick up casually. One of the couches pictured—an off-white bouclé—was valued at $14,760, according to AD. A smaller sofa in the same space reportedly goes for $3,390.

Her dining table is listed at $1,299 from Crate & Barrel, and even the glassware lands on the expensive side. The photoshoot featured a set of four cocktail glasses valued at $135 and a teapot going for $109.

In the home’s second office, there’s a desk lamp priced at $2,995.

For her sons, Vance and Westin, Kristy Sarah pushed the details even further. In the article, one of the rooms pictured includes a $440 throw pillow on the bed and a $699 West Elm floor rug. Kristy Sarah said her sons were heavily involved in shaping the final result.

“When it came to their rooms, the boys had input on everything,” she said. “I want them to feel free here.”

Kristy Sarah’s mansion isn’t the only luxury move on her radar. Last week. she shared that she purchased an apartment in Miami—described as a goal she wanted to “cross off of [her] bucket list.” Amid divorce. she’s also leaned into high-end collaborations and kept up a busy streak that includes a recent yacht day with friends.

In early May, she revealed she’d been in therapy for a few weeks. Her therapist recommended a year of no dating, though Kristy Sarah joked about negotiating that down to 36.5 days. “I’ve been really learning to get my butt out the house and do stuff. It’s like I went from 0 to 100. Cause I’m not even going out in Houston mostly. I am packing my bag and going across the country and hanging out,” she said.

Even with Kristy Sarah keeping Desmond out of her Architectural Digest spotlight. he hasn’t stayed fully away from public attention. During the divorce. he’s been linked to at least two women publicly: Marissa Springer—described as his bar kissing buddy—and Dana Tran. the mother of Diddy’s youngest child.

A few hours after Kristy Sarah posted about the Arch Digest feature, Desmond teased a behind-the-scenes video of his recipe-filming day.

The story of the home doesn’t disappear just because the relationship changed. The building details remain. the décor costs stay visible. and the message in Kristy Sarah’s own caption—years of investing. risk-taking. and believing in herself—lands even harder now that the divorce has rewritten the backdrop.

  1. Cheating scandal or not, the windows thing seems like every rich person’s personality now. Like “need lots of windows” yeah okay.

  2. So she built it herself but then says she never “manifested” it?? That sounds like PR word salad. Also “compound butters in an apartment” like… is that a real job or just some random detail they added to make it messy?

  3. I don’t even care about the house part lol. Divorce happened, there’s scandal, and now everyone’s staring at floor-to-ceiling windows like that fixes things. Novi Home Builders… is that the same company from all those TikToks about “modern calm” kitchens? Seems like the article is trying to say her life is still perfect because of the view.
