Knicks’ Game 4 win turns ugly outside Spurs hotel

object thrown – New York Knicks fans celebrated OG Anunoby’s game-winning tip in Game 4 against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. Late that night, as the Spurs bus returned to the team’s hotel, an object was thrown at Victor Wembanyama and Keldon Johnson—missing them
The night started in full Madison Square Garden noise—then spilled into the streets.
After the New York Knicks won Game 4 against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night, OG Anunoby tipped in the game-winning basket and sent the arena into a frenzy. Knicks fans didn’t keep it contained to the building either; their celebration stretched across the world.
But when the Spurs bus returned to the team’s hotel late Wednesday night, the mood changed. As Spurs players exited the bus and entered their hotel amid boos from Knicks fans, someone appeared to throw something toward Victor Wembanyama and Keldon Johnson.
The item luckily missed both players. It struck the street light between Wembanyama and Johnson and fell to the ground.
On the court, Wembanyama still carried plenty of his usual weight. He finished Game 4 with 24 points. 13 rebounds. and three blocked shots. even though his shooting line told a rougher story—he went 9-of-25 from the field in the Spurs’ loss. The start was especially tough after the first quarter: he had 11 points on 4-of-18 shooting.
San Antonio, too, had its collapse written into the final stretch. The Spurs blew a 29-point lead in the loss, including a 20-point lead with 9:33 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Now the series swings back to where it started for the Spurs—home. They will return home for Game 5 of the NBA Finals, trying to defend home court after losing the first two games at home. The Knicks, meanwhile, will look to close out the Spurs and secure their first NBA Championship since 1973.

Crazy stuff, like why throw anything at Wemby? People need to chill.
I swear it’s always Knicks fans doing the most. But also how does someone even get near the hotel?? Sounds like nobody takes security seriously.
Wait so Wembanyama got hit? It says missed but then there’s a street light?? Idk I’m confused. Also 9-of-25… dude just shoulda shot better instead of carrying the whole team.
Not to be that person but I feel like this is what happens when one team wins and fans lose their mind. They mention 29-point lead like it matters when the real story is someone throwing something at a player in public. If the Knicks win Game 5, they should still punish whoever did that.
