On Sunday. June 21. the 44-year-old widow posted an emotional tribute to her late husband. James Van Der Beek. on her Instagram. James, who was 48, died earlier this year after a cancer battle. In her message. Kimberly wrote: “Missing you so much and thinking of how magnificent you were in every single way today. And somehow, from the other side?. You continue to parent. You’re a marvel.” She also tagged “@vanderjames.”.

The post came with heartwarming shots of James spending time with his children over the years. James left behind six kids: daughters Olivia, Annabel, Emilia and Gwendolyn, along with sons Joshua and Jeremiah.

Since his death, James’ friends, fans, and co-stars have spoken out about the loss. After his passing, a GoFundMe was created to help the family with medical expenses and bills, and it drew major, notable celebrity donations. The GoFundMe is currently at $2.8 million.

Just recently, James’ rep released a statement addressing reports about money. The representative said, “James secured down payment for the Texas ranch for the family with the help of friends through a trust so they could shift from rent to mortgage.” James and his family moved to the ranch in 2020.

  1. Wait I thought James was already gone like last year? Cancer battles always get blurred in my head. Also the GoFundMe being at $2.8 million is wild, like good but also wow.

  2. Honestly I don’t get why people are even talking about the money part… like let the family grieve. But also that rep said down payment for a Texas ranch? That sounds like they were already rich or something, right? I’m confused.

  3. Father’s Day posts always hit different. Six kids though, I can’t even imagine. And the fact they moved to the ranch in 2020—so like was the cancer during/after that? I saw somewhere it was different than what the article says, but I didn’t read all of it. Hope Kimberly has support, that’s all.
