Kathy Griffin Targets Meghan McCain in Heated Video

Kathy Griffin fires back at Meghan McCain in a new YouTube video after promoting her tour on The View.
Kathy Griffin didn’t hold back after her recent stop on The View, using a YouTube video to go after former co-host Meghan McCain with a heated, personal critique.
Griffin’s comments came soon after she appeared on the daytime talk show in late April to promote her tour.. In the clip. she looked back on her time on the panel alongside Joy Behar. Sara Haines. Ana Navarro. Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin. describing the lineup as an “easy panel” while saying she “love[s] all the girls.”
But the upbeat tone didn’t last. Griffin quickly shifted to McCain, asking whether she had ever shared a moment with her or whether McCain mainly “just come[s] after” her. Griffin then accused McCain of being “an annoying” figure in the exchange, adding that she seems to “take the bait every time.”
Griffin also suggested that McCain’s criticism is recurring, framing her own remarks as something McCain routinely escalates.. She added that McCain would likely post about being “not a feminist. ” and Griffin positioned the back-and-forth as a familiar pattern. saying that “one of these days” McCain will “pick it up.”
Meghan McCain has not yet responded to Griffin’s latest remarks. Still, the dispute sits within a broader thread of tension between McCain and the show that dates back to her departure in 2021.
Since leaving The View, McCain has repeatedly criticized the program for not featuring enough “authentic conservative voices.” More recently, it was reported she also took aim at her successor, Alyssa Farah Griffin, in her podcast “Citizen McCain with Meghan McCain.”
On the podcast, McCain discussed her disagreement with the way The View handled the replacement.. She said she was against the show hiring what she described as “fake people” who once voted for President Bush in the early 2000s and now “hate everything Republicans are. ” a remark that also hinted at Farah Griffin.
McCain then went further, arguing that Farah Griffin wasn’t truly representative of conservative women and calling her successor a “joke.” She described the experience as “wildly disappointing,” pointing to what she said she helped build during her own four years on the show.
While McCain criticized Alyssa Farah Griffin. Griffin’s own YouTube video offered a very different note about the table she joined.. Griffin praised Alyssa by saying she “turned out to be the nicest one at the table. ” and she added that she has “always had lots of Republican friends. ” emphasizing that she still considers herself “a big ol’ lefty.”
In a way. the exchange highlights how quickly opinions on The View can spill beyond the set. with former and current figures using social media to argue over identity. representation. and who gets to speak for a political side.. Griffin’s remarks at least show that the show’s biggest talking points are rarely confined to airtime.
The timing also matters: Griffin’s comments landed right after her promotional appearance and came in the wake of McCain’s own public criticism of Farah Griffin on her podcast.. With no response yet from McCain to Griffin directly. the story now hinges on whether McCain returns fire—or whether the dispute stays simmering as viewers watch the shifting dynamics around the panel.
