Mattapan shooting – Police say one man was killed in Mattapan and two others were shot in Dorchester early Sunday, with no arrests reported.
A fatal gunshot in Mattapan late Saturday night was followed hours later by another shooting in Dorchester that left two people injured, according to Boston police.
In the first incident, officers responded to a report of a person suffering a gunshot wound outside 28 Woolson St. at 11:39 p.m. Saturday. First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said.
Only after that investigation was underway, police said, another call came in just after 2 a.m. Sunday. Officers were notified of a person shot at 255 Geneva Ave. in Dorchester.
At that location, investigators found two people who had been shot near the intersection of Geneva Avenue and Everton Street, police said. Both victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Boston police said the two shootings are being investigated separately. In the Dorchester case, the department reported that no arrests have been made. Police also did not provide clarification on whether any arrest had been made in connection with the Mattapan shooting.
The weekend’s violent incidents are part of a broader pattern of gunfire in Boston neighborhoods, with police reporting at least five people shot over the course of Saturday and early Sunday.
