Kai Trump is gearing up for college, and her back-to-school shopping cart includes all the essentials, from cleaning supplies to stress gummies.

President Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter, in her latest vlog published Wednesday, Aug. 19, took viewers along as she shopped for her apartment with her mother, Vanessa Trump, and brother, Spencer Frederick Trump, at Target.

“I’m excited for college. I’m nervous. I’m living on my own, but I’m like excited,” Kai, 19, said in the video as she played golf before heading to Target. “It’s like weird. Like a week ago I was crying every day, and now I’m really excited to go. So, I don’t know. Going through the four stages of grief.”

Kai explained that she’ll be living in an apartment during her time at college instead of the dorms, though she plans to spend much time at the dormitory since many of her friends will be there. She later shared that her apartment has two full baths, though she did not indicate how many bedrooms it has, joking that she has yet to visit her new home.

“This is why I actually haven’t bought anything for my apartment, even though I’m moving in like two days,” Kai said. “It’s because I get overwhelmed when I start doing this. So, I just don’t do it at all. I avoid; I’m an avoider.”

Vanessa Trump quipped that she’s been to her daughter’s apartment “many times, cleaning it, getting everything ready,” managing deliveries and more.

“Kai, I might just stay there,” Vanessa Trump said. “She can commute from where we live now. I’ll live there.”

Kai’s college apartment haul included everything from bandages and stress gummies to bathroom cleaning supplies and beauty products, such as shampoos and makeup-removing wipes. She also bought kitchen supplies, including a frying pan, cutting board, spatulas, mixing bowls and more.

Vanessa Trump told her daughter she’ll need to do her cleaning herself, and when Kai Trump replied that she’ll “call her down” for help, her mother said: “She is going to learn how to do that or else it’ll just stay a mess. And that’s about it.”

Kai teased that she’ll be sharing her move-in experience in the next vlog.

Where is Kai Trump going to college?

Kai, who recently graduated from The Benjamin School, a private school in North Palm Beach, announced in 2024 that she had committed to the University of Miami, where she will play golf.

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami,” Kai said in August 2024. “I would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey. I would also like to thank my great team for getting me to this point. I would like to thank my grandpa for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support… I am super excited to be a Cane and represent the University of Miami. Gooo Canes!”

The avid golfer, on the Jan. 6 episode of Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast, said she wants to “turn pro, win a few tournaments, (and be) hopefully number one in the world eventually.”

While she may share her love of golf with her grandfather, she said at the ESPYs that she wants to “stay out of politics completely,” adding that “It’s just not (her) thing.”

How is Kai Trump related to President Donald Trump?

Kai is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump (formerly Vanessa Kay Pergolizzi), who divorced in 2018. She is the eldest of Trump’s 11 grandchildren and has been in the public eye from a young age, attending high-profile events such as her grandfather’s first inauguration and the White House Easter Egg Roll, USA TODAY previously reported.

Though Kai was born and mostly raised in New York, she now lives in Jupiter, Florida, with her mother, who recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Vanessa Trump, 48, in a personal update on Instagram in May, said that she recently underwent a procedure and is now working with her doctors on a treatment plan.

Kai has four siblings: Donald John Trump III, Tristan Milos Trump, Spencer Frederick Trump and Chloe Sophia Trump.
