América defeated Juárez away from home to remain the leader of the Apertura 2026.

6′ América’s first chance! – A great pass from Violante found ‘Chiquito’ in position in front of goal, but his shot went over the crossbar.
26′ Huge mistake by Rodolfo Cota! – Cota tried to cut out a cross from the right and ended up deflecting the ball off the forward, causing it to go into the net. Fortunately, the goal was ruled out for offside.
32′ Juárez goal – Estupiñan scored the home side’s first after a cross from the left flank.
A first half in which América was superior, but lacked precision in front of goal and showed fragility in defense.

A strange match, because Club América dominated almost all of it, but wasted a lot of chances in front of goal and also allowed the opponent at least three clear scoring opportunities. It was a match that could easily have ended 5-3 in América’s favor.
América’s next match will be against Columbus Crew next Wednesday in the 2026 Leagues Cup quarterfinals.
