Green Bay Packers star Josh Jacobs walked into the legal process on Tuesday afternoon, turning himself in to police in Wisconsin and ending a tense window that began with a disturbance complaint on May 23.
The 28-year-old was officially booked into Brown County Jail following his arrest on May 26, according to Brown County Jail records. He faces five domestic violence-related charges: battery-domestic abuse. criminal damage to property-domestic abuse. disorderly conduct-domestic abuse. strangulation and suffocation. and intimidation of a victim.
The jail records list strangulation and suffocation as a felony. The other four counts are misdemeanors.
Hobart-Lawrence Police Department had already set the scene. In a statement released Saturday at approximately 8:37 am, officers said they were dispatched to a disturbance complaint involving Jacobs. The department then pointed to the investigation’s outcome: Jacobs was arrested on May 26 and booked into Brown County Jail on the following charges. The department said the investigation remains active and ongoing, adding that no further information would be released at this time.
Through the noise of the arrest and booking, the positions from both sides have been sharply distinct.
The Packers issued a short response, saying they are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs and that, because it is an ongoing legal situation, they will withhold further comment.
Jacobs’ attorneys—David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld—spoke to the NFL Network on his behalf. In their statement. they said Josh Jacobs vehemently denies the allegations. and that the matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public. They asked for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.
The NFL is also aware of the situation. The NFL Network reported that the league has been in contact with the club.
A Daily Mail request for comment was made to Jacobs’ attorneys.
The timeline matters here: the complaint came on May 23, the arrest happened on May 26, and Jacobs was booked Tuesday afternoon into Brown County Jail.
For Packers fans and NFL followers alike, the immediate question is what happens next—on the field and in court. Head coach Matt LaFleur is expected to speak with the media after Wednesday’s open practice, after Green Bay opened OTAs on Tuesday.
Jacobs has spent the last two years with the franchise after being drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. His contract in Green Bay is set to run for the next two seasons, after he signed a four-year deal worth $48 million with the Packers in March 2024.
This season’s production still sits in the background of the situation as the legal process takes over. During the 2025 season, Jacobs finished with 234 carries for 929 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns, plus 36 receptions for 282 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
Off the field, Jacobs has recently been at the center of attention for reasons beyond football. Back in February. he sparked dating rumors with influencer and OnlyFans star Ash Kash after sharing a video of them holding hands on a beach on his Snapchat story. Neither Jacobs nor Kash ever commented on the rumors.
Right now, everything hinges on what comes out of an investigation the authorities say remains active, alongside Jacobs’ insistence that he denies the allegations and that key evidence has yet to be made public.
