Jolie has accused Pitt of physical abuse, including during a widely publicized plane incident in 2016 where she alleged he was violent toward her and their children. Pitt has denied the allegations.
Their courtroom conflict has also traveled far beyond the personal. For years, they have fought over Château Miraval, the French winery they once owned. In 2022, Pitt filed a lawsuit claiming Jolie’s sale of the property to an investment firm was unlawful. Jolie’s attorney. Paul Murphy. said she is “looking forward to defeating the case at trial next year so that their family can finally focus their energies on healing and moving on.”.
The legal battles have been running alongside Jolie’s professional grind. She has been promoting her new movie, “Couture,” in which she plays a woman diagnosed with breast cancer. In another recent conversation, she described how her children have helped steady her during that period.
“I think my fighting spirit is finally back,” Jolie told Variety. She said she “lost it for a bit” after feeling “taken down,” and that it’s returned “in large part thanks to my children, who are now older, and encouraging it.”
