Jets re-sign Isaac Poulter to $855,000 deal

Winnipeg has re-signed goaltender Isaac Poulter to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2026-27 season worth an NHL average annual value of $855,000, extending a relationship that has already produced back-to-back one-year deals.
The Winnipeg Jets didn’t wait for the market to turn. On Thursday, they re-signed goaltender Isaac Poulter to a one-year, two-way contract extension for the 2026-27 season, agreeing to an NHL average annual value of $855,000.
It’s the second consecutive one-year contract Poulter has signed with Winnipeg, a decision that underlines how quickly the organization has settled on him as a dependable option when it needs innings — and stability — in its goaltending mix.
Poulter, 24, is a Winnipeg native, and his most recent season came largely through the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals. He appeared in 43 games and posted a 25-17-1 record, including two shutouts. His season numbers were strong across the board: a 2.76 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
He also saw limited time with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, appearing in three games and finishing with a 2-0-0 record, a 2.83 GAA, and an .885 save percentage.
That path matters, because Poulter’s career has repeatedly shown he can adjust as he climbs levels. He originally entered professional hockey as an undrafted free agent after completing his junior career with the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos. In his final WHL season in 2021-22. he played 49 games and finished with a 20-23-6 record. a 3.00 GAA. a .911 save percentage. and five shutouts.
After signing with the New Jersey Devils organization in 2022. Poulter split the 2022-23 season between the AHL’s Utica Comets and the ECHL’s Adirondack Thunder. For Utica. he went 7-3-3 with a 3.62 GAA and a .883 save percentage in 13 appearances. while for Adirondack he posted a 10-8-2 record. 2.93 GAA. and a .910 save percentage in 22 games.
Poulter’s best AHL season arrived in 2023-24. He went 17-8-1 in 28 games with Utica, recording a 2.55 GAA and a .911 save percentage. He was just as sharp during Adirondack’s playoff run, going 7-8 in 15 postseason appearances with a 1.86 GAA and a .939 save percentage.
The next year brought another solid stretch in Utica: in 2024-25, Poulter posted a 16-13-6 record, a 2.86 GAA, and a .898 save percentage across 36 games.
When New Jersey declined to qualify him, Poulter became an unrestricted free agent. He joined his hometown Jets organization in July 2025. bringing with him a resume built for pro depth and long stretches of starts. Across 80 career AHL games. he owns a 42-24-10 record with five shutouts. along with a 2.88 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage.
For Winnipeg, the contract extension doesn’t just keep Poulter in the system. It locks in a familiar piece of their goaltending picture for another year — and it does so with the same short-term structure they’ve leaned on since last season.

855k?? thats like nothing for NHL goalie money lol
So they re-signed him for 2026-27 but it says two-way, does that mean he’s only gonna play if someone gets hurt? I’m confused.
I thought Isaac Poulter was with the Devils still, or am I mixing him up with that other goalie?? Also .905 save percentage sounds kinda mid to me. Maybe Jets are tanking anyway.
Back-to-back one-year deals for a goalie is kinda wild like they can’t decide. 43 games in the ECHL is good, but 2.76 GAA and .905 save% is what, that’s like AHL numbers? anyway Winnipeg always seems to pick goalies from somewhere random so sure.
