Jenelle Evans’ Son Jace Shares Update On Life & Living With Grandma Barbara: ‘Doing My Best’

We’re getting good news about Jenelle Evans‘ family! Love that!!

As we reported this week, the Teen Mom 2 alum publicly revealed that Jace is back home with grandma Barbara Evans after spending months getting treatment at a mental health facility.

She told UsWeekly:

“Jace is back at my mom’s at the moment and isn’t coming to live with me because my mother and I have mutually agreed upon his living situation and circumstances.”

Further explaining, she said:

“Jace wants to be around his friends and is now working at his job again he once had. I’m really happy all parties can come together for my son and finally agree on something.”

Now Jace himself is opening up. In an Instagram Live on Tuesday, per The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the 17-year-old told fans:

“I’m over here just living my life. Everyone was happy to have me back home. I’ve been doing my best.”

Aww! That’s great!!

He also revealed more about why staying with his grandma makes the most sense right now:

“I’m at my grandma’s because I’ve got a job. I’ve got everything I need to get done. I’m about to be done with school.”

Totally! Why change things up now? Makes sense to us.

As for Grandma Barbara, Jace says she’s “doing pretty good” too.

He also shared he plans to visit his younger siblings when he turns 18 and gets a car:

“I have my little brother’s phone number and my little sister’s phone number. I’ll call them here or there. When I’m 18, next year, I’m gonna probably drive up there and see them.”

Beyond that, Jace’s dreams for his future includes travel and filming.
