Jasmine Crockett’s STOP TRUMP Act Targets Taxpayer Settlements

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has introduced the STOP TRUMP Act—legislation aimed at blocking federal taxpayer funds, including the Judgment Fund, from settling claims tied to Donald Trump, his allies, family, political appointees, affiliated entities, and Ja

Jasmine Crockett didn’t just float a new proposal—she framed it as a fight over who pays the price when politics turns legal.

The Congresswoman introduced the STOP TRUMP Act. which stands for the “Stop Taxpayer-funded Reimbursement for Unlawful Misconduct by Presidents Act.” The bill would block taxpayer dollars from funding political settlements. and it is specifically designed to stop compensation payouts—or claims connected to Donald Trump. his allies. family members. political appointees. affiliated entities. or January 6 participants—under what the bill describes as “government weaponization.”.

The timing matters. The proposal lands as Trump is reportedly pursuing billions through lawsuits and settlement negotiations, with his current legal pursuits described as tied to investigations and prosecutions involving him and his associates.

Crockett has been blunt about what she says is at stake for ordinary people. She pointed to pressure on working families who are struggling to afford groceries, gas, rent, and healthcare. “The last thing taxpayers should be forced to do is bankroll political revenge tours and payouts for Donald Trump and his cronies. ” she said.

Under the bill’s approach, it would block federal funds. Specifically, the proposal targets the federal Judgment Fund, preventing it from settling or paying those types of claims if the act moves forward.

That message didn’t take long to travel beyond Capitol Hill. On Instagram, @tamikadmallory wrote, “Somebody has to try to do SOMETHING!!!!!” @mprez_lilocks added, “God please protect this woman at all costs!!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.”

Support also showed up in bolder fandom language, with @nycxelizabeth saying, “I love her 😮‍💨 idc…. she’s that girl 😮‍💨😍.” Others focused on strategy and politics. including @dreco_9. who told Crockett. “Sit yo *ss down Jasmin. ” and @je_suis_coko. who said. “She fighting the fight by herself seems like!. This what we need and to VOTE in the mid terms!“.

Not everyone was patient with the process itself. @jaygotsongz reacted, “The fact the sh*t even got passed its what blows my mind,” as debate continued in real time.

With the STOP TRUMP Act now on the table. Crockett’s argument is anchored in one central claim: federal money shouldn’t be used to reimburse claims connected to Trump and his circle. For the people who replied online. the bill is either proof that someone is willing to act—or a sign that the fight is far from over.

  1. So basically she’s saying they can’t pay out lawsuits? Like ok but what about regular people’s settlements too?

  2. I don’t even get it… Judgment Fund is like automatic right? So who’s gonna stop it, Congress? Sounds like political theater to me.

  3. Regular people already can’t afford groceries, so she’s fighting the wrong fight. Also if Trump is involved doesn’t that mean other presidents got the same thing??

  4. The headline says STOP TRUMP Act but it’s really about the Judgment Fund?? So like they’re trying to make it illegal for the government to reimburse people involved with Jan 6 too? Doesn’t that just make it worse and longer in court?
