Google migrates Fitbit Community into Google Health

Google has moved the Fitbit Community forum onto its new Google Health Community platform, redesigning the site around Google’s broader health ecosystem. The change includes dedicated areas for the Google Health app, Google Fitbit Air, and current Fitbit devic

For longtime Fitbit users, one daily habit is quietly getting erased: going back to the old Fitbit Community to find answers.

Google has transitioned the Fitbit Community page to the new Google Health Community platform as it continues folding Fitbit into its own health ecosystem. The redesigned forum brings a fresh look that matches Google’s newer community pages. including the recently refreshed Google Home and Nest Community forums. But the bigger shift isn’t cosmetic—it’s where discussions live now. and what happens to the history users built up over time.

In the new layout, the forum is organized around Google’s broader health ecosystem. Users will now find dedicated sections for the Google Health app. the recently launched Google Fitbit Air. and existing Fitbit devices such as the Sense and Versa smartwatches—as well as the Inspire and Ace fitness trackers.

Google had previously said the old Fitbit Community would remain available in a read-only state. letting people browse older discussions even after they could no longer post or interact. That promise appears to have changed. Older Fitbit Community links. including the link to the update about the transition. now redirect directly to the new Google Health Community forum. There doesn’t appear to be a straightforward way to browse archived discussions.

For users who relied on the old forum to solve real problems—troubleshooting steps, bug fixes, and device support posts—this is more than a UI refresh. It means years of community guidance may be effectively buried behind a system that no longer surfaces those past threads.

What makes the change feel jarring is the timing and the direction: instead of the older forum staying accessible for browsing. it now routes users toward the redesigned space. Google’s move keeps the conversation going. but for many of the people who built up their own support library in the Fitbit Community. the old links no longer lead to the same place.

  1. I hate when they “migrate” stuff and somehow your old posts are just gone. Redirects are always like a dead end. I clicked an old Fitbit link and it felt like I got scammed into the new Google page.

  2. They said it would be read-only, but now it’s redirecting?? That’s kinda shady if true. Like how am I supposed to find the fix for my Sense when the old thread just points to some Google Health community thing.

  3. Honestly this sounds like they’re trying to shove everything into their app ecosystem. Fitbit Air?? I’m already annoyed by the name. Also if old links don’t even work, that’s super inconvenient for people who searched years ago. I saw a link go to a new page and it wouldn’t show what I needed, so I guess they buried it on purpose.
