Jane Seymour sidesteps engagement talk after ring appearance

Jane Seymour is fueling engagement speculation after wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger, but she keeps her answer light and evasive. She spoke on “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle” on June 10, the day after she made a similarly reserved comment to InSt

Jane Seymour knows exactly what a close look can do.

On Wednesday. June 10. during an appearance on “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle. ” the 75-year-old actress wore a diamond ring on her left ring finger—an image that immediately sent viewers hunting for meaning. When she was asked whether she was engaged or married to her partner. musician John Zambetti. who she has been dating for nearly three years. Seymour didn’t shut the conversation down. She just refused to answer it straight.

“I am wearing a moi et toi ring, which he gave me,” Seymour said. “It’s like a vintage one, but when I had it made in my size, I was told that Napoleon designed it for Josephine.”

The “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” star took the same path the day before. On Tuesday, June 9, she spoke to InStyle, again keeping the focus on her relationship rather than any formal milestone. “All I can say right now is that we are very happy together,” Seymour said. “We’ve been together almost three years. And if or when there is a reason to announce, it will happen. But right now, we are really, really happy where we are. I just wish that anyone could be as lucky as I am.”.

Seymour’s personal history is complicated: her four previous marriages ended in divorce. The ring, she suggested, fits a different kind of story—one about connection and partnership, not a headline.

Her explanation leaned into the design itself. The French phrase “moi et toi. ” meaning “me and you. ” refers to a two-stone look set side by side. symbolizing a couple. Seymour said the style became famous in 1796 when Napoleon Bonaparte reportedly gave Joséphine de Beauharnais a two-stone engagement ring. She also described what she loves about hers: “What I really love. it has diamonds here going towards the main one. ” she said. “Instead of a solitaire, I am not alone, we are together, and we had a life before.”.

Her ring story landed while she was promoting Season 5 of her Acorn TV series “Harry Wild,” which reunites her with former “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” co-star Joe Lando. In the ’90s Western drama, the actors played love interests, and Seymour said the familiarity only deepened with time.

“Our chemistry is even better now because we really got to know each other very well when Joe lost his home in the [Pacific Palisades] fire. He and his family lived with us for 7 weeks,” she told the “Today” hosts. “The two of us know how to work together. He’s just fantastic on the show.”

Between the ring on her left hand and the careful wording around John Zambetti. one fact stands out: Seymour isn’t denying anything outright—she’s keeping control of when the public gets confirmation. And for now. her answer is a simple one. delivered twice in two days: she’s happy together. and if an announcement ever comes. it will come on her terms.
